The Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk areas are not especially noted for their wind, but along with most areas across the whole of the UK, they are suitable for turbine installations - except in very built up or sheltered locations.

The development in windturbines is such that they are now extremely efficient and have much lower cut in speeds, so they start generating electricity at a much lower wind speed.

With the feed in tariff scheme paying up to 26.7pence per kilowatt hour generated and savings on not purchasing the electricity initially, they can have a surprisingly short payback time.

Wind turbines are available in a vast range of sizes to suit most applications. Farms, houses, factories, communities; all could benefit by the adoption of wind power, a recognised 'green' energy that is practical.
